Genre-bending Denver-based band NOT A TOY have dropped their latest single, ‘Nervous’. The band seamlessly interweave indie, hip-hop and R&B on this one, with minimalistic, funky grooves underpinning effortless vocals, before exploding out into a catchy chorus hook. “We always knew ‘Nervous’ was a special one for us so we experimented with a ton of alternative versions for months, even trying out versions while on tour last year, until we finally worked it into what it is now,” the band explain, on the song’s genesis. The track is taken from their debut album, PRBLMS, which is a defiant statement of purpose due for release later in 2023. -Dan Peeke
